A Little About Myself

I'm Shannon, the owner of Dolly's Doggies. I set up my business as I couldn't find quality care for my animals that matched my high standards of pet care.
Simply my animals are my life, such a cliché but it's true. I was born into my family's pet shop industry where I learned a lot about animals from a young age.
How to properly care for them was paramount for me, my standards for their care are set very high so you can rest assured you will come home to extremely well cared for animals.
I have handled and looked after a wide range of animals from a young age, from hamsters and other small furries to parrots and hawks.
Into my teenage years I found my passion for horses and owned them for over 10 years, although I don't own them anymore I still love my time with them and try and ride as much as I can.
I also have experience with livestock such as sheep, cattle, goats, pigs etc, I love all animals equally and have spent a lot of time learning about their individual needs and dietary requirements.
My experience is also backed up by my qualifications
I have a Diploma in Animal management, in which I learnt about nutrition, basic animal nurse skills, and also about the anatomy and biology of different animals, which gives me great knowledge when caring for your pets, along with a whole host of other topics that greatly benefit in the quality of my work.
I am also a qualified dog groomer with City and Guilds Dog Grooming Level 3 in which I also had to learn about breed standard and how each dog is different and needs to be handled differently, for example a pug would need different handling to a lurcher due to the short nose, this knowledge is very important to have when in the pet care industry.
I am also fully insured plus I am Pet first aid certified for your peace of mind.
I have dedicated my life to animals and they are my priority in everything I do, which in turn shows in my work.
